Chief IP Video Delivery Software Architect - Sports and Entertainment Video Solutions Engineering will lead multiple initiatives in Cisco’s Advanced Services solutions engineering organization to develop innovative, market leading products and solutions for video applications in Sports & Entertainment and other verticals.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a "startup" type environment as an integral part of a close knit cross-functional team to architect, design and develop products and solutions that would need to integrate with multiple Cisco and third party products and technologies. Be part of the dynamic team that has designed and developed the StadiumVision Director application that controls the StadiumVision solution currently deployed at the New York Yankees, Kansas City Royals, Toronto Blue Jays, Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins with rollouts into more baseball, football, basketball, hockey, soccer and other sports arenas in the pipeline, and other verticals in future.

Cisco’s innovative software technology solution brings real-time hi-definition video, digital signage, customized video control, concession services, merchandizing services, advertizing, infotainment services, content management and event management together to provide a stunning high definition user experience at the Stadium via 1000's of HDTVs.

Technical Requirements:
-Senior architect with core strengths in IP Video, digital video systems and video based application architecture, design, implementation with solid experience in large/complex product development.

-Experience in building large scale, multi-tier video applications with significant hands-on experience in one of the following IP based video delivery (e.g. digital media players, set-top boxes, digital TVs, kiosks, etc.), Ad insertion, IPTV, VoD or content distribution, management and monitoring systems.

-Prolific Flash ActionScript (AS2) or Java coding skills under Linux and experience in laying out the fundamental building blocks, core foundation and frameworks.

-Proficient in the use of flash/video content authoring and manipulation systems and tools.

-Expert knowledge of digital video and compression standards.

-Good networking knowledge/background.

- Contribution to industry standards and open source projects is desirable

Other Requirements:
-Excellent communication, collaboration and leadership skills.
-Ability to train and mentor junior engineers.
-Self-driven
-Experience in full product development lifecycle of large/complex products.
-Significant experience working in SCRUM or other agile development methodologies.
-Experience in directly working with partners and customers during requirements, architecture, design, test, deployment and support phases.

Must have solid Computer Science background with system architecture, software design and integration skills, with significant hands-on coding experience in products and solutions that involve distributed architecture and integration of multiple products and systems for IP based video delivery.

Typically requires BSEE/CS or equivalent with 10+ years relevant experience in internetworking technologies and applications
