The Network Consulting Engineer with core understanding of the IP networking technologies in the area of IP Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP, IS-IS), MPLS, Metro-Ethernet or Datacenter with willingness to learn mobile wireless technologies are also welcome. Expert knowledge of Service Provider network architectures and best practices is a plus.
Network Consulting Engineer responsible for delivering technical lifecycle service including Planning, Design and Implementing, and Optimization of Cisco Service Provider Mobile Wireless Solutions such as UMTS/CDMA Data Packet (GGSN, PDSN, HA), SS7oIP, Content Billing, Roaming Exchange, LTE, WiMAX, IPRAN. Specific emphasis on system-wide architecture and design consulting.

Products that NCE will work on and needs to be highly proficient include GGSN, SS7oIP, Service Controllers, Content Billing Servers, WLAN AP SSG/PWLAN , PDSN/HA, RAN-O, Network Management and Element Management systems.

Examples of protocols and technologies that NCE will work on and needs to be highly proficient in include CDMA, GSM, SS7, SIGTRAN, GPRS, 3GPP, 3GPP2, IMS, PDSN, HA, GGSN, WAP, MMS, SMS, Billing, GTP', RADIUS , IPv6.

Planning and design will include working directly with customer, account teams and business units to build Customer Requirements Documents (CRDs) and low level designs (LLDs). Design responsibilities will include sizing, scalability planning, content billing, routing and traffic planning, service selection. NCE will be required to create low level designs for Service Provider roll-outs of Mobile Wireless Solutions.

NCE will be required to create/customize Network Ready for Use (NRFU)/acceptance test plans and Site Requirements Specifications. NCE will be required to provide technical input to Statements of Work, RFPs and contracts. Implementation services will include on-site and remote support, configuration, network connectivity and testing of services, NRFU/Acceptance, and Customer and Partner training and workshops. NCE will provide lifecycle services for different types of engagements including Proof-of Concept, Early Field Trials, Pre-sales Trials and large scale deployments

25% - 50% national travel is required.

This is a Tech Lead position for new product development, the Cisco Management Heartbeat Server (CMHS), which is a key component of a consumer home security application. Begin as key developer on the project, and as understudy to Prototyping Lead, in Scrum team and then take over technical product ownership. Project is to build a high-performance backend server that is a key component of a larger distributed system. The system shall scale to 250,000 concurrent connections.

Lead Java Developer responsible for the design, development, and integration of multiple complex system components (hardware and software) for a large commercial consumer application. By analyzing requirements and working in conjunction with system architects, other developers, and test engineers, the Java Software Developer will write specification documents, create programs, repair defects, consult on test plans, and develop tools. The ability to quickly assess system issues and perform root cause analysis is needed.
