The candidate will be involved in the design, development and quality assurance of a video networking platform for high bandwidth HD/SD video streams processing in compressed (H.264, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, WMV) as well as uncompressed domain. The candidate, if selected, will be a key contributor to the system design and development team and will be responsible for the development and testing of a distributed, highly scalable, video networking product for the enterprise video market. The development team’s charter covers the following major areas:
-Data plane “firmware” and ‘systems software” development to transfer multiple high bandwidth HD/SD video streams in compressed as well as un-compressed domain through the video networking system at very low-latency.
-Video processing subsystem driver software and firmware development for multi-stream encoding, decoding, transcoding, transrating and video quality enhancement in real time using custom ASIC and DSPs. Multi-ASIC and DSP environment subsystem development will be the key.
-Audio processing subsystem development on a multi-DSP environment
-Integration of multiple protocols and interfaces to bring in video streams into the video networking equipment from multiple types of sources and delivery of video out from the system to IP networks
-Develop systems level software for command and control of media processing software subsystem, and firmware/driver to control ASIC solutions integrated into a high density board.
Development team for media services platform is looking for individuals with experience the above mentioned areas. The role involves close co-operation with Systems Architecture team as well as many teams across the organization and close co-operation with product management. The candidate should be process oriented and should have good communication and presentation skills.
Job requirements:
A successful candidate would have a degree and experience in CS, EE or related field, and:
-Experience with DSPs and video ASIC integration software/firmware development, video processing subsystem command and control software development.
-Experience in video encoders, switches and gateway related products development and deployment.
-Experience with high speed I/O processing subsystems software and firmware development using network processors, FPGAs and high speed networking ASICs.
-Have outstanding communication, presentation and written skills as well as an ability to deal effectively with both technologists and business representatives and to sell and promote ideas across the organization.
-Very strong C/C++ programming experience along with embedded system software and firmware development experience is required
-Experience with design tools, architectural tools for rapid prototyping is a great plus.
