Responsibilities:
The candidate will be involved in the architecture, design and the development of a video networking platform dealing with high bandwidth HD/SD video streams in compressed (H.264, MPEG-2) as well as uncompressed domain. The candidate, if selected, will be a key contributor to the Systems Architecture team and will be responsible for the architecture of a distributed, highly scalable, video networking product for the enterprise video market. The architecture team’s charter covers the following major areas:
-Data plane architecture capable of moving multiple high bandwidth HD/SD video streams in compressed as well as un-compressed domain through the video networking system at very low-latency.
-Control plane architecture providing video routing and switching functionalities, real-time indexing and meta-tagging as well as record/playback to/from video servers
-Integration of multiple protocols and interfaces to bring in video streams into the video networking equipment from multiple types of sources and delivery of video out from the system to IP networks
-Develop architectural prototype and proof-of-concept before handing over to the implementation team
Architecture team for media services platform is looking for individuals with experience in “one” or more of the above mentioned areas. The role involves close co-operation with Product Management organization as well as many teams across the organization, developing different multimedia applications across different Business Units. The successful candidate would thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced work environment, should be process oriented and has good communication and presentation skills.
Job Requirements:
-Experience with high speed video networking equipments architecture, design and development integration multi-channel HD/SD video switching/routing, MPLS/ QoS, IP Multicast, video routing/switching through high bandwidth backplanes at low-latency for real-time applications.
-Experience in video networking products development and deployment at the large enterprise, studio environment or video service providers’ environment is highly desirable.
-Strong skill in using software architecture tools (Rational Unified Process, Use Case modeling tools, design tools etc.)
-Have outstanding communication, presentation and written skills as well as an ability to deal effectively with both technologists and business representatives and to sell and promote ideas across the organization.
-Very strong C/C++ programming experience along with embedded system software and firmware development experience is required
-Strong working knowledge with MPEG-2 and H.264 video standards, AAC audio standards is highly desirable
Education:
B.S or M.S or Ph.D in Computer Science or related filed is highly desirable.
