The Physical Security Business Unit (PSBU) within Emerging Technologies Group offers network-centric video surveillance software and hardware that supports video transmission, monitoring, recording, and management. These products protect customers existing investments in analog equipment while enabling these devices to operate as part of an IP network-centric deployment.
Our BU offers products and solutions that deliver broadcast-quality video, audio and data to multiple users over standard Ethernet/IP networks to the security and infrastructure markets. We are seeking a SW Dev Test Engineer with Video and IP experience to join our award-winning team at our facility in Carlsbad, CA.
Responsibilities:
Support and help test and maintain our Cisco network infrastructure for Video Surveillance. Test on both Linux and Window platforms running applications from a consumer approach ensuring quality software is maintained.
SW Dev Test Engineer will have the opportunity to try their hand at a wide range of tasks, in both hardware and software ranging from CPU Setup procedures, various hardware setup procedures for Video network systems, Surveillance camera setup, Black box testing, and White box testing on Linux, IOS configuration testing on Cisco routers and switchers and MS XP.
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate is very organized, able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, and is comfortable around high tech video networking equipment, white box and black box testing and a variety of software applications.
• 5-7 years testing Multimedia or Security software applications running on Linux or MS OS.
• 1-2 years experience testing network routers and switches.
• Understanding of Cisco Systems, Inc. IOS.
• Basic knowledge of C, C#, Java & XML
• Create basic shell scripts and/or work with VI Editor and others like it.
• Television Standards experiences both PAL and NTSC
• Understanding of MPEG compression.
• Experience hardware testing/debugging, MPEG encoders/decoders, DSP chipsets preferred.
• Requires BSEE/CS plus 5-7+ yrs related experience, or a MSEE/CS combined with 2-5+ years of related experience. 3-6+ years related experience. BSEE/ET or equivalent.

Java / J2EE Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for developing calendaring software and integrating with a variety of industry standard calendaring applications like Microsoft Exchange, IBM Notes/Domino, Active Directory/LDAP, Google Calendar, Yahoo calendar and others to develop new, best of breed video conferencing network appliance providing room scheduling, call automation and a host of real-time services as part of a team working on cutting edge technologies and products.
Requirements:
Experience developing significant portions of server-side code for large, successful, commercial products, preferably telecommunications adjunct systems.
Knowledge and experience with Object Oriented Design, Java, J2EE, Apache Tomcat, Web Services and Linux/x86 (RHE).
Expertise in calendaring and group scheduling software, understanding RFC 2445/2446 (iCalendar) standards with experience in writing middleware software that reads/writes to calendar, email, contact/resource information from Java applications.
Experience in the design and development of large-scale, highly available, global applications in a distributed computing environment (internet, intranet, extranet).
The position requires excellent written and oral communication as you will collaborate with a variety of development groups as well as marketing and other stakeholders on a regular basis.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field and 6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Also, we need a strong DSP design person with an emphasis on Audio Echo Cancellation expertise. This is an Audio Engineering Manager position and requires hands on design of AEC algorithms.
