The Physical Security Business Unit (PSBU) within Emerging Technologies Group offers a full-spectrum Physical Security software solution consisting of Physical Facility Access Control Systems, network-centric video surveillance systems supporting video transmission, monitoring, recording, and management, IP-Cameras and also Incident Response Systems with notification and Push-to-Talk Audio collaboration. The next generation Push-to-Talk Communication systems bridge audio with video and allow First Responders and Incident Dispatchers to collaborate to respond to incidents better. The PSBU Mobile Audio-Video client project takes this one step further and bridges the existing Incident Response Systems and PTT Radios with rich media mobile clients.
Responsibilities:
The developer will be responsible for building add-on features to the Cisco IPICS PTT-based Incident Management system, driving powerful voice, video, rich-media features into real-world mobile device applications. This will entail enhancement of the SIP-based -Server at the heart of Cisco IPICS to integrate advanced Land-Mobile Radio features and also to stream media to IPICS endpoints leveraging Cisco's IP and Unified Communications infrastructure.
This position also includes the following responsibilities:
- Interacting with external companies
- Participate in the architecture and design of our radio control, radio trunking, etc components
- Defining the interfaces and the architecture for providing seamless integration of the IPICS system with existing and forthcoming radio standards.
Requirements:
We are looking for a self motivated individual with outstanding problem-solving skills and solid software development experience in a team setting. Experience in Handheld or low-level media application development with languages such as C/C++ is highly desired. SIP-based unified communications implementation will be ideal. Experience in radio standards, operations, and commonly used interfaces will be useful.
Candidates who have a more diverse background such as exposure to Audio-Video streaming and conferencing Technologies will be ideally suited for the position. You must have excellent debugging and optimization skills with good written and verbal
