Product Manager, Carrier Ethernet at Cisco Systems

Our Carrier Ethernet Service Provider Network marketing group is looking for an experienced Product Manager to support IP Next Generation Network (NGN) services for our Catalyst 4900 Series modular switch platform. As we build out the next generation platform which fully integrates multiservice edge functions in the aggregation network, our Carrier Ethernet design will provide smooth integration for both business and residential services. We are looking for a Product Manager that will drive the service-enabled quadruple-play residential deployments (Data, Voice, Video, and Mobility), Metro Ethernet Layer 2 point-to-point and multipoint business services, and Layer 3 IP/MPLS/Multicast VPN’s for business customers.

In this role, you will be part of a small team supporting strategic customer engagements and generating demand to win and accelerate Service Provider revenue. You will serve as a technical subject matter expert on Metro-Ethernet technologies and solutions for external customers and internally with engineers in product development. Other duties include product pricing, business case analysis and product forecasting.

Requirements:
● Prior experience selling to Service Providers
● Knowledge/Exposure to Carrier Ethernet
● L2 and L3 (IP, MPLS) switching/routing networking protocols
● Experience working with Ethernet LAN (802.1q, 802.1ad, 802.1ag, 802.3ah)
● Experience with Edge and Access Aggregation
● Experience working with retail and wholesale providers
● Knowledge of Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) such as Ethernet, DSL, and WiMax
● Experience/Exposure to any of the following:
> 3G, WiFi Services and Wireless backhaul providers
> IP Multicast and Mobile IP
> Metropolitan Networking
> Service Provider provisioning and delivering services over provider networks
> Ethernet over MPLS (EoMPLS)
> Video Conferencing and Video-on-demand (VOD)
> IPTV, High Speed Internet/VPN and Voice over IP (VOIP)

Typically requires BSEE/CS or Finance, Marketing or equivalent plus 10+ years related experience in marketing internetworking technologies and applications. MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
