Sr. Architect – Digital Video Processing Hardware Subsystem

Sr. Architect – Digital Video Processing Hardware Subsystem

The candidate will be involved in the architecture, design, development and quality assurance of a video networking platform “Hardware System” designed for high bandwidth HD/SD video streams processind in compressed (H.264, MPEG-2, MPEG-4) as well as uncompressed domain. The candidate, if selected, will be a key contributor to the Hardware Systems Architecture team and will be responsible for the architecture of a distributed, highly scalable, video networking platform and multiple products for the enterprise video market. The architecture team’s charter covers the following major areas:
-High Bandwidth I/O cards architecture involving multi-gig traffic flowing in/out of the system carrying HD/SD video traffic.
-Video processing subsystem hardware architecture for multi-stream encoding, decoding, transcoding, transrating and video quality enhancement in real time using custom ASIC, FPGAs, DSPs and Control Processors.
-Audio processing subsystem hardware architecture on a multi-DSP environment
-High speed switched backplane and interconnect subsystem architecture using FPGAs and ASICs.
-Application processing cards and other related hardware subsystems
-Firmware development and driver development on the hardware subsystem supporting all the components on the board/system
-Board support package and diagnostic software development for the hardware subsystem
-Distributed processing platform architecture which can scale from a entry level to large scale datacenter deployment using same hardware building blocks.

Architecture team for media services platform is looking for individuals with experience in video switching/routing industry. The role involves close co-operation with Product Management organization as well as many teams across the organization and close co-operation with customers. The candidate should be process oriented and should have good communication and presentation skills.

Job requirements:
A successful candidate would have a degree and experience in CS, EE or related field, and:
-Experience with DSP and video processing ASIC based board design for high channel density video switches/processing engines for enterprise, service providers or studio environment.
-Experience with high speed network I/O cards design for video routing, storage products, particularly video I/O such as HD-SDI, HDMI, DVI
-Experience with high speed interconnects, backplane design and packaging experience
-Very strong embedded system software and firmware development experience is required. Experience with design tools, diagnostic tools and simulation tools are required.
-Have outstanding communication, presentation and written skills as well as an ability to deal effectively with both technologists and business representatives and to sell and promote ideas across the organization.

Education
B.S, M.S or Ph.D in Computer Science or related filed is highly desirable. Strong educational background in Digital Signal Processing systems is required.
