We have a current opening for a Human Factors Principal to work in our TelePresence Systems Business Unit which is part of Cisco's Emerging Markets Technology Group.
You will be the principal user advocate for Telepresence, a virtual presence experience that uses advanced visual, audio, and interactive technologies to create an in person experience at a virtual conference table. Telepresence is one of the more recent examples of how Cisco is changing the way we work, live, play, and learn.
The qualified candidate will hold a PhD or Masters degree in Human Factors, Psychology, Behavioral Science or related field and have work related experience in Human Machine Interaction or Usability. This exceptional Principle Human Factors Analyst will own and be responsible for creating innovative user interface within the Telepresence team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership to Human Factors team on process, tools and methodologies.
Provide design thought leadership, lead execution of the design vision for products, working collaboratively with customers, engineering, and product management for machine usability and software UI design.
Development of human-computer interactions based on user requirements.
Drive interface prototyping, usability testing, and usability inspections.
Discuss prototypes with developers and test with consumers.
Help in defining cross-application interface design elements.
Assist in test plan development, equipment and software setup, logging of test activities, production of summary videos, and documentation of test results.
Conduct usability inspections.
Develop multiple techniques to conduct user centered research: field visits, observation, interviews, cognitive walkthrough, and contextual inquiry.
REQUIREMENTS
Proven track record of identifying and communicating human factor requirements for consumer products with demonstrated critical acclaim.
A background in human factors or in graphic or computer science, psychology, engineering, or technical writing, with a strong interest in human-computer interaction.
Experience designing, conducting, and analyzing human factors experiments in the consumer products market.
Experience working within large hi-tech companies with interdisciplinary teams, as well as experience in graphical interface projects required.
Experience in performing usability testing, focus groups, producing storyboards, task analysis, structured interviews, style guides, walk through analysis and design are all essential.
Demonstrate skills in collecting and analyzing human behavioral data
EDUCATION
PhD or Masters in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology Behavioral Science or Human Computer Interaction or related field with work related experience in Human Machine Interaction or Usability.
