Corporate Counsel – Americas Partner Organization

Cisco is looking for experienced attorneys with strong academic credentials, a track record of innovation and the desire to grow. You will be drafting, negotiating and analyzing a wide variety of agreements with our most important partners. You will be advising senior sales leaders in areas such as US and international competition law and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act as well as helping create and shape partner programs.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
* Advise Senior Vice President and other executives in the Americas Partner Organization on legal issues that impact the business (such as competition law) and assist with partner program development and execution.
* Draft and negotiate contracts with Cisco partners including direct sale, RFP/RFIs, resale, nondisclosure, license/sublicense, OEM-out, evaluation, dispute settlements and alliance agreements.
* Represent the Americas on partner program meetings and councils.
* Provide advice and contract interpretation to Cisco senior management on the provisions of specific agreements as well as partner programs.
* Assure conformity and consistency in application of Cisco legal and business policies and practices.
* Support the training requirements of client organizations by providing presentations on key legal issues that impact the business (such as competition law, FCPA, privacy).
Requirements:
* Substantial US and international competition law/antitrust experience
* Direct experience negotiating complex business transactions in a high-tech, distribution or direct sales environment.
* In-depth knowledge of commercial contracts and business law.
* The ability to read and understand complex contract provisions.
* Experience supporting an in-house sales organization is preferred.
* French and Spanish language skills are a plus.
All candidates must be articulate, demonstrate superior communication, negotiation, people and organizational skills, and be comfortable and confident in dealing directly with all levels of management. Knowledge of networking, outsourcing, service providers or software industries is a strong plus. The successful candidate will be able to work independently but collaboratively with a high energy, talented and fun team of professionals.
Typically requires law degree or equivalent professional qualification. Admitted to practice in at least one jurisdiction. Minimum 5+ years law firm or industry relevant experience required.
