We have a current opening for a C++ / Linux Software Engineer to work in the TelePresence Systems Business Unit (TSBU) of our Emerging Technologies Group (ETG).
TelePresence is a virtual presence experience that uses advanced visual, audio, and interactive technologies to create an in person experience at a virtual conference table. TelePresence is one of the more recent examples of how Cisco is changing the way we work, live, play and learn. (See the You Tube videos on the right side of this blog.)
Responsibilities:
This position will be involved in addressing video transport performance issues related to jitter and latency and porting the video switch application from Linux 2.4 to 2.6.
Requirements:
Superb C/C++ coding skills working in a Linux environment
Excellent logic and problem solving skills
Strong Linux experience to include Linux 2.4 and 2.6
In-depth understanding of video transport to include knowledge of RTP/RTCP
Effective written and verbal communication and cross-team collaboration skills
Preferred:
General knowledge of networking useful
