Job Title: Technical Leader - Software Engineer / Technical Leader – Data Center Networking

Data Center Switching Technology Group is part of Cisco’s Core Technology group, delivering the MDS 9000 Product Family, the foundation of Data Center 3.0; and the transformational Nexus 7000 Series, Cisco's flagship switching platform.

You will be part of a fast paced team responsible for delivering quality code for large complex systems requirements. Responsibilities:
Define, architect, design, and deliver new software and features for the Nexus 7000 platform, with emphasis on advanced Layer 2/3 protocols. You will be exposed to great design methodologies using finite state machines and various in-house tools/libraries. Write complete functional and design specs independently. Write portions of product spec. Evaluate competitive technologies and participate in evangelizing Cisco technologies with standards committees. Oversee implementation of these new features in future asics.

Required Skills/Experience:
•In-depth experience in C programming using Linux/Unix environments.
•Strong problem solving and software development/troubleshooting skills.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills. You will be required to influence technology alternatives to other business units/teams.
•Team-player, can-do attitude, will work well in a group environment while being able to contribute well on an individual basis.
•MS CS/EE with 9+ years or BS CS/EE with 11+ years of related experience is required.

Desired Skills/Experience
•Experience in any datacenter technology – Server Virtualization, Architecture of distributed applications using Hadoop/MapReduce or similar technologies, TRILL, Storage Virtualization.
•Experience in any of the Layer-3 Unicast routing protocols (e.g. OSPF, BGP, IS-IS) or Multicast routing protocols (e.g. PIM, IGMP, MSDP).
•Experience in Layer-2 Unicast and Multicast forwarding.
