Linux Kernel Developer

TelePresence is a virtual presence experience that uses advanced visual, audio, and interactive technologies to create an in person experience at a virtual conference table. TelePresence is one of the more recent examples of how Cisco is changing the way we work, live, play and learn.

Responsibilities include:

* This position will be involved in various video transport projects on the TSBU multipoint switch.
* In depth knowledge of Linux scheduling and performance will allow this candidate to fine tune application performance and make other internal improvements.
* This position also will work closely with packetized audio and video at the RTP layer.

The following skills are required for this position:

* Superb C/C++ coding skills working in a Linux environment
* Excellent logic and problem solving skills
* Strong Linux experience to include Linux 2.4 and 2.6
* Effective written and verbal communication and cross-team collaboration skills
* In-depth understanding of video transport to include knowledge of RTP/RTCP is highly desirable
