The Product Manager will be a key member of the Product Management team for the exciting new WebEx Connect product line. WebEx Connect brings together essential collaborative applications—including presence, instant messaging, online meetings, audio and video conferencing, as well as document and task management in virtual workspaces—into a single, familiar interface.
Responsibilities:
This role will be responsible for the managing integration of Connect with Email applications. The candidate will play a significant role of bridging the Connect product with the Email product resulting from the recently announced acquisition of Postpath. • Own the product requirements for integrating WebEx Connect with Email applications
o Translate customer and end-user needs into clearly defined and detailed product requirements via MRDs, and PRDs and functional design documents
o Work with other teams within WebEx to influence the roadmap of applications being developed by those teams
• Track industry trends and maintain a deep and up-to-date knowledge of the capabilities of email solutions including client based applications (Outlook, Outlook Express, Lotus Notes etc), and major webmail clients (Yahoo Mail, Gmail, Hotmail, etc).
• Work closely with engineering, QA and operations to scope, plan and deliver new releases
o Actively track the development schedule, prioritize changes and updates accordingly, collect and document issues and change requests
o Manage the team through the product development processes to ensure introduction of the product to market on time and on budget
• Partner with other product managers to streamline the user experience of the overall connect solution
Requirements:
Successful candidates must have strong experience balancing customer needs with development resources and make prudent decisions. This position is ideal for a hands-on individual who can take cross functional projects from concept through implementation. The ideal candidate has razor-sharp instincts about what makes a good product, is very familiar with web 2.0 technologies, email based applications and possesses a strong orientation on exceeding customer expectations.
• Bachelor's degree in technical field, MBA with high academic achievement
• 5+ years managing high technology products, from development through launch
• Strong understanding of web and email solutions – Previous background in email solution highly desired
• Passionate and active web 2.0 user and consumer
• History of accomplishments and initiative
• Demonstrated ability to meet or beat assigned targets and deadlines consistently
