This role is key to developing large Data Center consulting projects in areas such as Data Center consolidations, migrations, new design projects and Data Center Virtualization projects around technology and operational activities. The Program manager will develop consulting project/program plans, create SOWs, create proposals, quote and scope Data Center consulting projects to enterprise level customers. Will document best practices and create technical and business white papers.
Key aspects of the role include:
-Manage services sales process: activities include scoping, pricing and negotiation.
- Present credible, competent and passionate knowledge of the infrastructure and supporting organizations in the data center that supports the applications that run the business.
- Primary DC consults capable of working with Account teams and customer to properly understand business and IT objectives and scope, propose appropriate project and team to accomplish objectives.
- Leading multiple concurrent project initiatives from proposal through implementation and client acceptance.
- Assist pre-sales efforts by serving as a subject matter expert and providing financial (ROI) and technical competitive analysis.
- Develop and nurture strong client relationships at the executive and director levels; educate and advise clients on industry trends and technologies; attain trusted advisor status to clients.
Some Key Requirements:
Prefer at least 4 year undergrad degree with success in management and/or IT related consulting.
Experience in IT consulting projects including managing Enterprise solutions.
Strong customer facing skills, including ability to establish credibility with CxO level, director level and technical professionals.
Technical Skills desired but all not mandatory:
- Experience with Data Center planning, design, implementation, operations, and optimization.
- Experience in managing or implementing complex projects based on diverse datacenter technologies including infrastructure components (SAN, LAN, server), OS software (Windows, Linux, Solaris), Virtualization software (VMware, Xen), application software (Oracle Fusion, WebSphere,SAP platforms), and management and automation platforms (Tivoli, Openview, Blade Logic, Scalant).
