This role is with the Canadian Solutions Data Centre Systems Engineering Team focusing on presales engineering activities, leveraging Cisco's products, solutions and architectures in the area of Data Centre. The Data Centre Architect must work closely with the Canadian Account Managers, Systems Engineering Managers, Systems Engineers and Regional Managers as well as Product Sales Specialists to drive business and help build Data Centre practices in Canada. He will have strong ties to the different business units that comprise Cisco’s Data Centre solution set.

The Data Center Architect will be a senior member of a team that will design and build next generation data center architectures for Cisco’s largest clients who are looking to consolidation, virtualization and automation their complex data center functions. Cisco is looking for senior IT professional who is experienced in Data Center design, build out, and management of large scale enterprise or service provider data centers. The ability to work with rapidly evolving technologies geographically dispersed and industry focused sales and engineering teams, with strong consultancy skills are a must for this position, along with the ability to develop innovative solutions and contribute to winning sales strategies in highly competitive sales situations.

The Cisco Data Center Architect will be viewed as a senior technical resource by peers in the Data Center practice, the Canadian SE field organization, and within the growing Cisco Data Center partner community. Working closely with clients and sales teams, in a collaborative setting, the Data Center Architect will take ownership of the overall objectives, design, and validation of solutions that achieve superior business results. The Data Center Architect will also use his or her expertise, and creativity, to formulate innovative product recommendation and solutions that will be used as input to product development teams with our corporate organization.

The Data Center Architect’s primary role will be the positioning, architecting and validation of customer specific solutions around Cisco's Data Center technologies, and specifically integrating those technologies into the customer’s overall data center architecture and detailed design. This position will help drive sales, serve as a content knowledge expert, participate in proposal preparation, develop customer presentations, lead competitive efforts, mentor other technical resources, and assist with development of technical collateral around server, storage, and integrated network designs.
