Senior User Interaction Designer (IxD)

Cisco is looking for Senior Interaction Designer to join our TelePresence User Experience team. In this position you will work with a fast-paced team of peer interaction and visual designers and usability testers to refine / extend our industry leading video communications / collaboration system.

Responsibilities:
- Define the user interaction model and work-flows
- Help drive product direction based on field research and
functional requirements
- Generate UI mockups including wire-frames and high-fidelity prototypes.
- Document User Interface Specifications
- Work with usability engineers to design and conduct usability studies.
- Work closely with engineers to deliver the final product
- Facilitate project communication across a multi-disciplinary team throughout all phases of the project
- Present concepts / designs to team members, executives and engineering
- Shepherd design from concept phase, thru implementation -- right up to FCS

Requirements:
- 8+ years experience
- College degree in HCI, CS or related field or equivalent experience
- Experience in a variety of different platforms -- desktop, devices, web applications.
- Team player interested in building products that change the world
- Participation in delivery of at least 3 releases of a product
- Able to quickly understand constraints of design problem, identify tradeoffs and communicate them to fellow designers / decision makers
- Strong verbal communication and writing skills

Preferred:
- Experience designing Macintosh / iPhone / Palm Pre applications
- Experience prototyping with Adobe Flex, Flash, Director
- Experience designing with Adobe PhotoShop / Fireworks / Illustrator
- Experience working with industrial designers
- CSCW tools
