We have a current opening for a Software Technical Lead in the TelePresence Technology Group within our Emerging Technologies Business Group (ETBG).

TelePresence is a virtual presence experience that uses advanced visual, audio, and interactive technologies to create an in person experience at a virtual conference table. TelePresence is one of the more recent examples of how Cisco is changing the way we work, live, play and learn. Join our high energy team involved in developing several next generation TelePresence products. The project needing a technical leader is a new collaboration project that allows the recording, capture and playback of TelePresence sessions and meetings.

Responsibilities:

The Software Technical Lead will be driving key technical and architectural issues for the Cisco TelePresence Recording Server (CTRS). Work with a team of engineers to drive a strong architecture and OOD, then implement the required code.

Work with the following:
-Different business units to leverage functions from their products.
- Other Software Engineers on the team to insure that the proper architecture and design are implemented.
-Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure that the product can be manufactured easily and is well understood.
-Dev Test to ensure that the essential quality is preserved and that the most critical bug areas are addressed.
-CA/TAC and engineering to help support the product and provide the proper training for the TAC team.
-Assist the Escalation team to debug and answer questions when customers report issues.

Requirements:
- Technical Software Engineer, 10 years or more experience total in software development.
-6 years of experience in real time systems
-C/C++ language development in a Linux environment
-RTP/RTSP/RTCP
-Experience in one or more of the following
o Video Recording/Streaming
o MP4/QuickTime file structure
o Video compression


Preferred
- Web services
- SIP signaling and communications applications
- Remote file storage systems (NAS)
- Database Applications
- Java/JBoss
